3D scanning is a powerful tool for monitoring structures for settling issues. Scans can be used in several ways including but not limited to comparing the as-built to design plans or monitoring the structure over time. When structures are undergoing settling issues, understanding whether the structure was built to design is important. Similarly, continued scans over time can identify where these problems are most prevalent and whether they are continuing to decline. ARA has conducted multi-year studies of several large buildings to identify where the settling is most pertinent and whether it is problematic.
